Vintage items are often imperfect and can be worn. Items defined as vintage are over twenty years old, while antiques are over a hundred years old. Our vintage textiles have been previously owned, they are handmade, telling a story of the woman who originally wove them. Imperfections are considered an attribute, demonstrating the quality with which the rugs were made. There will be differences in the motifs, patterns and colors, making each item original and unique.
If you have any questions or concerns about the rug or textile you are interested in, please contact me. I am happy to give you more information, pictures or videos.
My small business is currently run out of a studio in Ferndale, Michigan. Viewings are available by appointment, or during open hours which can be found on Instagram and Facebook, or by contacting me directly. Shipping is available.
All sales are considered final. If I have misrepresented an item grossly, I will accept a return if contacted within five days of receipt of item. The textile’s vintage nature is not considered a deficit, so please look at the pictures closely and ask questions. The rug or textile must be returned in its original condition.
Because vintage rugs and textiles were handmade, sometimes by nomadic women, sizes are not the same as modern, machine-made rugs. Measurements will not be 8x10 or 5x7 as big box stores offer. If a specific size is needed, you may want to consider layering a vintage rug over a neutral machine-made rug. Inexpensive neutral rugs can be found easily online and at big box stores.
