Antique rug No. 901

Persian Balouch C. 1890's. Prayer rug woven in the Balouch/Balouchistan area which is part of three countries - Afghanistan, Iran and Pakistan. This rug is a Persian Balouch, as it was woven in Iran, by Balouch nomads. Rugs from this area were made from wool, cotton, with possible camel or goat hair added to the mix. Colors used were red, ivory, blue, brown with black.

Please look at pictures for rug details. There are worn/distressed portions, with raw fringe and edging. Gorgeous rug with many years of use left. We recommend using a good rug pad to further preserve the rugs integrity over time. Framing or hanging on your wall would be an excellent way to display your new piece of art.

Dimensions: 3'8" x 2'6"

Care of vintage rugs is not complicated, as wool is resilient in high traffic areas, with the lanolin naturally repelling stains. You can find care instructions in FAQ at the bottom of our website. All rugs have been professionally cleaned.

All pictures were taken in natural light, however may look different on different screens and in different lighting. Please ask if you would like additional photos.

Rugs are all vintage, handmade, wool or wool and cotton. Imperfections are the result of hand weaving and the nature of vintage rugs.
